Jim has fished the country from remote rivers and lakes in Alaska's interior to the clear
Caribbean waters of Florida. Jim was previously a guide on Lake Illiamna, west of
Anchorage. Famous for its monster rainbows as well as silver salmon, Lake Illiamna yielded many limits to Jim and his guests.
Prior to that, Jim held his captains license in Florida where his favorite outings were for Dolphin (the game fish)
and fishing the Flats for Snook, Redfish, and Tarpon. Jim prides himself on being able to find fish for any guest and being able to teach
youngsters to catch fish. His son Chase is testimony to his ability and it is not uncommon now to hear arguments (especially
from Chase) about who the better fisherman actually is. Jim holds his EMT certificate and was formally a fire fighter on Pine Island, Florida. He
graduated from the University of South Florida. Capt. Jim Looney, State Licensed

"A guide's guide! My compliments to Captain Jim Looney - a true pro and wonderful companion
in the boat. I subscribe to the Sun Tzu theory of fishing: "He who does not use a local guide does not know the water." I've
spent the better part of 35 years guiding in Montana, and the rest fishing all over the world. When I give this high of a
compliment you better believe it is well deserved. Book this man with confidence."
